- Identify markets for closer review
Move beyond one-size-fits-all rates with specialty demand estimates shaped by each market's demographic profile.
What The Data Measures
CurisData estimates resident-generated specialty utilization. It gives your team a population-based baseline before you layer in your own market knowledge, operations, or investment assumptions.
Estimate how many residents are expected to use a specialty at least once during the year.
Measure the expected visits generated by residents, including repeat use among specialty users.
Compare demand across a consistent specialty framework, from cardiology and orthopedics to psychiatry and urology.
Start with block-group-level data, then build into ZIP Code areas, counties, markets, or clearly defined custom trade areas.
Apply observed utilization relationships to the age, sex, race and ethnicity, region, and income structure of a population.
Receive a polished report, a repeatable market batch, or structured data that fits your internal analysis workflow.
Sample Report
Each report translates population-based specialty utilization into a clear baseline for teams evaluating markets, service lines, locations, and growth priorities.

Use Cases
Use CurisData as the common demand layer across market screens, location decisions, service-line planning, and internal analytics.
Compare market demand at a consistent specialty level before investing in deeper diligence.
Understand the resident-generated utilization baseline behind a specialty or service-line decision.
Build a consistent demand view across counties, smaller areas, and custom service areas.
Put multiple markets on the same analytical footing for portfolio, expansion, or investment review.
Choose the format that fits the decision: concise reports, market batches, or structured enterprise data.
Extend the demand baseline with a tailored engagement designed around your particular planning question.
Provider opportunity and organizational volume require additional assumptions about access, capacity, referral patterns, patient travel, and share.
Methodology
CurisData analyzes individual-level healthcare survey records weighted to represent the U.S. civilian, noninstitutionalized population, then models how specialty use varies across the demographic profile of a defined market.
We use healthcare survey evidence that represents people who use specialty care and people who do not, creating a population denominator rather than relying only on provider records.
Observed utilization relationships are applied to the age, sex, race and ethnicity, region, and income profile of the population in the market being evaluated.
These estimates cover annual office-based and hospital outpatient physician visits across 25 specialties. They are modeled resident-generated utilization estimates, not provider-volume projections, inpatient or emergency-department demand, unmet-need measures, or guarantees about future behavior.
Understanding the Data
Two markets with the same population can generate different levels of specialty utilization. CurisData provides a population-based demand input for location analytics, site-selection models, and client reporting.
Evaluate specialty users and visits alongside competition, accessibility, patient profiles, and other geographic variables.
Use specialty demand maps and report exhibits to explain the population surrounding a candidate location.
Understand how resident utilization complements claims and how market demand relates to a clinic’s potential volume.
